Initiation into the shadow clan is mysterious and always results in at least one death-the target. That's what they call the people they kill. Who's they? the ninjas. She observed him as he drank his last coffee. Of both the day and ever. She'd seen his family-2 sons and a soon to be widow. But she wasn't interested in them because only Timothy had to be killed. She'd prepared her method the previous night. It was simple but efficient. And now it was go!

She leapt off of the rooftop next to his and came in through the open window, the sun was setting as she plunged the dagger in the back of his neck and left.

the sun set and a life had been taken, but Jenjacat had just started her new one as a ninja in the Shadow Clan.

Minka looked at the pool of blood slowly seeping from the man's neck. She silently cursed Jenjacat's cold-bloodedness - yes, Minka had killed, but never like this. She would never attack when a back is turned.
The man moved, and Minka gasped - he was still alive! But barely - he has lost so much blood. If she is to save him this will be her greatest challenge yet. Quickly, she pulled a small bottle from the pouch at her waist - an infusion of amythest, amber and sage, which would calm the man and send him to sleep as she worked. The amythest would start the healing process.
The hours grew late, but Minka worked on, adding crystal infusions, herbs and spells into the man's body. As the light fingers of dawn stretched over the city and the smell of coffee, baking bread and frying bacon was sensed on the wind, Minka's patience and hard work had been rewarded. The man breathed and life spread theough him.
Now she could not risk anyone seeing her, not even the man whose life she'd saved. She swung herself onto the windowsill and scrambled up to the roof. The she was away, running like the wind, so that no-one would know that she's been there.

Bad news. Not what Jenjacat wanted. The man should be dead but instead he was alive. She scowled. A healer had come to town. She could expect her second assignment today.

He sent a raven which had a pouch tied to it's leg. The pouch contained coloured beads, tied together in patterns. This was the details Jenjacat had been waiting for.

Jenja sighed. Sent back the pigeon and beads. Collected her costumes and left for a new home from where she would start her mission.

Minka ran away from the rising sun, leaping from rooftop to rooftop. Soon the ninjas would realise that the man was not dead, and her neck was as good as sliced in two.

She knew she has to hide before the sun was fully up. She spotted a chimney, and leapt over to it. She nearly slipped, but her gym training kicked in and she clawed at the blickwork wildly, pulling herslef into the narrow chimney. If she climbled into the top, she would be save for a few precious moments.

She waited until she was breathing normally and her heart had stopped pounding. Then she pulled out her device, which was her only and most treasured possesion. It had everything - the time, a phone device, entertainment and video games, email, and even a satellite view of the world. What was more, it held her soul. She could not die until it was destroyed.

The time flashed up: 06:12. This was bad - someone on his way to work might spot her as she climbed down. If she crawled down the chimney, someone inside would spot her. She had to stay here, but she could not sleep.

Suddenly Minka made up her mind. She replaced the pouch and leapt from the roof, somersaulting three, four, five times, and landing hard on her feet in a pond. The pond was icy cold and stank, but it was better than death. She silently made her way onward.

A small green bug slid across the surface of the water, gliding in glee, as it had a pineapple behind it...

The green bug contained a small explosive charge. Within 10 seconds the pond was destroyed....but the device was on its way to Ninja HQ.

"That went well! Just another 100 metres and it might've actually blown up something worthwhile!" said a voice.
