Right, well it needed doing.
On Wednesday 23rd July, F1 arrived in Budapest, Hungary, for the Hungaring GP.
The headline was Jaime Alguersuari - youngest F1 driver ever about to make his debut.
However, many journalists were disappointed as he made few mistakes and merely put them right on how to pronounce his name (High-may Al-gwere-swah-ri).
First practice was on Friday and the big story was Mclarens apparent speed
- but don't worry, the other teams said, they were running on fumes to show off.
They were still scoffing on Saturday, as qualifying started.
In Session 2, disaster struck, a torcion bar flew free of Rubens Barichello's Brawn car. It struck Felipe Massa in the left eye area of his helmet, knocking him unconcious and fracturing his skull in two places. He was airlifted to hospital and no one really cared too much when Fernando Baby Nando seized pole or that Jenson Button swore loudly on live TV.
Thankfully, on Sunday, Felipe was given a brain scan with positive results.
The race was back on.
First corner, Hamilton with KERS speared into 3rd. He then overtook 3rd place man Webber and began gaining on Baby Nando by 1 and a half seconds per lap. Baby Nando pitted and Hamilton took the lead. A few seconds later, Baby Nando was out of the race. The wheel nut had unscrewed and his wheel flew off, distressingly similar to the incident which killed Henry Surtees last week. He retired from the race and Renault were subsequently banned from the next race (Valencia - Baby Nando's home track).
Left was Hamilton.
And he drove supremely.
Fastest lap after fastest lap - did anyone even notice Kimi Raikkonen in 2nd?
I didn't think so.
Final Result:
1 - Hamilton
2 - Raikkonen
3 - Webber
Congratulations to Jaime Alguersuari who finished in 15th, 1 place ahead of his team mate.
